Cobalt blue is back! A little hotter than royal blue, it showed up on the spring runways in dresses, tops, pants, jackets, skirts and accessories. The blue suede platforms that have been coloring the pages of all of the fashion magazines would support the believers that Elvis still lives! Even Prada boasts a cobalt leather and canvas bag for a mere $1750. The cobalt was paired with black, red, silver, bright yellow, lilac and even turquoise, depending on the designer. And if that wasn’t enough contrast, lips were deep red. Unlike some shades of blue, cobalt looks good on most skin tones. Do you think your skin tone is too cool for blue? Think again. Cobalt is anything but cool. How you wear it is the key to pulling it off. It was seen on the red carpet with gold jewelry and accessories and on the streets with nude shoes and lips.

I rarely ever look at blue when shopping for clothes or accessories since I am ordinarily drawn to warmer tones but I have been fond of cobalt since the 80’s. I might find a piece or two of it in my closet again before the summer is over. Are you feeling blue?
