It’s hard to believe it is Labor Day already. The unofficial summer’s end. Ragweed season. Wasn’t yesterday Memorial Day? Perhaps it’s good that it is over. This summer brought catastrophic events all over the world: Tsunami’s, tornadoes, earthquakes, break-ups, floods, forest fires, dust storms and hurricanes. Did I miss anything? It was a blur. For some it was devastation, for some reconstruction, for others just a matter of inconvenience. When family and friends gather around to help pick up the pieces, even the saddest events give way to hope. Soon the days will shorten again but not until the hillsides come alive with color to show us once more why we endured summer’s wrath.
