I figured that sooner or later it would come down to this. I have expanded my blog to include trending topics and to rant a little when I feel like it because it is my goal to post everyday. I don’t always have a fit bit or style suggestion. My mind is much broader. I thought I would rant for a minute today over something very silly. It is the use of the word “nother”. I heard Nancy Grace say it this morning and I listened to Oprah say it for years. They are well educated women in the broadcast industry; wordsmiths if you will. There really is no word “nother” so I decided to consult the Urban Dictionary because if it is ever said, it is found there. Here is what they had to say:

1. nother 61 up8 down
Derivative of “another” usually used when someone says “that’s a whole nother issue” or something along those lines. The correct way to say it is “a whole other issue”. “Another” translates to “an other”, but people mistakenly believe it translates to “a nother”. When you put a word like “whole” in-between “an other” the “an” changes to an “a” because “whole” starts with a consonant instead of a vowel. That’s a whole nother issue

As for finding it in the Webster Dictionary, that’s a whole nother story.
