I am at the new convention center at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for the Luxury/JCK jewelry trade show. Unfortunately, when you travel, the internet is not always the easiest thing to access. I wrote a whole post about the trade show and the jewelry fashions but due to the unreliable wifi at the convention center, it was all lost when I pushed the publish button. So…long story short, the diamonds and gemstones were huge, the colors were bright and one would never think we were in difficult economic times. I have been hesitant in the past to write about jewelry because I didn’t want to appear opportunistic or like I was trying to stroke our family business. So strictly speaking from a fashion viewpoint, the trends in everything from stones to pearls to watches say large, larger, largest.

I managed to make it through the day in my platforms although I had a backup pair in my tote (they were platforms too). Who says one needs to be practical when tying on the bling?
