When I was a kid, I wore corduroy jeans every winter. They were warmer than jeans and casual but a step closer to not looking “grubby”. My dad used to call them whistle britches and I guess I can understand why. Today’s cords are different all together than anything I wore as a kid. The key ingredient: spandex! I am particularly fond of the J-Brand stretch corduroy jeans. They are incredibly comfortable, not too low on the hip as to mimic plumber pants, and they fit into a boot without the bulk of their cotton rivals. They are so soft and comfy. Whistle britches have come a long way.
