I am in the habit of reading lips. I’m not sure why other than the fact that faces and facial expressions have always fascinated me. At my gym, the televisions have no sound unless you wear a little radio and headset. Not liking things stuck in my ears or clipped to my clothes, I got accustomed to reading lips. I was becoming quite proud of my talent and it got to be a challenge I looked forward to until I started realizing that lips just weren’t moving any more. So many people have plumped their lips to the point of complete distortion or immobility. Add to that a little too much filler in the smile lines and Nova from the “Planet of the Apes” comes to mind. Could all of this collagen be reversing our evolution? I could have sworn I saw examples of reverse evolution just the other night when I flipped through the channels and landed on “The Real Housewives of Miami”. I am okay about what people decide to do for the sake of looking a little younger or “rested” so to speak. But since I don’t like things stuck in my ears, whatever will I do when my hearing goes?
